At approximately 12:44 p.m. on August 6, 2014, Davis County Dispatchers received a 911 call of a paraglider who had crashed above the “V” in the Forest Service areas above Centerville. Emergency personnel were called out from South Davis Metro Fire, the Davis County Sheriff’s Office and Davis County’s Search and Rescue. The crash occurred at approximately 6000 ft., so a rescue helicopter was called to assist. The helicopter crew located the crash site and was able to land and provide medical help for the patient. It was reported that the patient was conscious at the scene however, the extent of those injuries is unknown at this time. No other information is available, and crews have arrived on scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
