Adam’s Canyon Hiker Injured in Fall

At approximately 1300 hours on July 2, 2013, dispatch received a 911 call from a male up Adam’s Canyon. The male said his hiking companion was a 22-year-old female who slipped on some rocks and fell into the creek. He said she hit her lower back and was unable to bear any weight as a result of the pain. She never lost consciousness and had since been moved out of the creek.

Crews from the Davis County Sheriff’s Office and Layton Fire Department are currently hiking up the canyon, while Davis County Search and Rescue responds to the area. More information will be released as it becomes available.


1603 hours

Update on injured hiker in Adam’s Canyon, patient has been assisted off the mountain with the help of the rescue crews. The patient complained of back pain, with no loss of function. She has been transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover from her injuries. All crews safely made it off the mountain and command has been released.
