Davis County is expected to experience high winds this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Although the wind is not expected to be as significant as December 2011, it is still a good idea to take a few precautions. The National Weather Service is reporting that wind gusts are expected to reach 50-60 mph along the Wasatch Front, with stronger gusts in the Davis County area. Typically, the hardest hit region has been between Fruit Heights and Bountiful, where east winds are funneled through large and steep canyons.
To help minimize any damage that may be caused by the high winds, we would like to encourage residents to take a few minutes and secure any loose items on your property. Items such as trampolines, basketball standards and garbage cans can become airborne and cause injuries or damage to property.
