What is a virtual ride-along?

On Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Sector One, Deputy Chris Benedict will be working his regular duty shift, but he will allow the public to hop into his patrol vehicle, via Twitter, and experience a virtual ride-along.

DEPUTY BIO                                           



Deputy Chris Benedict was hired by the Davis County Sheriff’s Office in June of 2008.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division, Sector 1, day shift.  Sector 1 areas of coverage are West Point, Clinton, Sunset, Syracuse, Clearfield, South Hooper and West Layton.  He is assigned to Sergeant Hilton’s crew.  Deputy Benedict is also a Paramedic, and is assigned to the pilot program of Rapid Sequence Intubations for the Davis County area. 

Deputy Benedict was raised in West Jordan and currently lives in Davis County with his wife and two children.  He attended Weber State University and graduated with his Paramedic Certification.  Prior to his employment at the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Benedict worked as a Paramedic at Gold Cross Ambulance.  The main thing that drew Deputy Benedict to law enforcement was his desire to make the community a safer place for the citizens.  He is passionate about enforcing DUI laws and wants to see safer roadways.  Deputy Benedict is an avid guitar player in his off duty time.
